OceanPath Tech ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Virtual Girlfriend mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Note: We do NOT collect photos, videos, location data, or contacts. AI girlfriend avatars are generated by AI, not uploaded by users. Some device information and advertising identifiers are collected automatically by our third-party advertising partner (Google AdMob) for ad serving purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

3.1 Supabase (Backend Infrastructure)

  • Purpose: Database, authentication, and file storage
  • Data shared: User profile, AI girlfriend data

3.2 Tongyi Yunqi (Multimodal AI Services)

  • Provider: Tongyi Yunqi (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd.
  • Purpose: Multimodal generative model API (text, image, voice)
  • Data shared: Chat messages, appearance descriptions, TTS text

3.3 Google AdMob (Advertising)

  • Purpose: Display advertisements within the App
  • Data shared: Advertising ID, device information (model, OS version), IP address, ad interaction data

3.4 Apple App Store / Google Play Store

4. Advertising

Our App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is a mobile advertising platform provided by Google LLC.

4.1 How Ads Work

  • AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads based on your interests
  • AdMob automatically collects certain device information (device model, operating system version) and your IP address to deliver and optimize ads
  • Ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks) may be collected to measure ad performance

4.2 Managing Your Ad Preferences

You can manage your advertising preferences through your device settings:

  • Reset Advertising ID: Go to your device's Settings > Privacy/Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID
  • Opt out of personalized ads: Go to your device's Settings > Privacy/Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (Android) or Settings > Privacy > Tracking (iOS)

Please note that opting out of personalized ads does not reduce the number of ads you see; it only means the ads may be less relevant to you.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

  • Chat messages are stored locally on your device using SQLite database
  • Chat data is NOT uploaded to our servers
  • Uninstalling the App will delete all local chat data

5.2 Cloud Storage

  • User profiles and AI girlfriend data are stored on Supabase servers
  • AI-generated avatar images are stored on Supabase Storage

5.3 Data Transmission

  • All data transmissions use HTTPS encryption
  • API communications are secured with industry-standard protocols

5.4 Data Retention

  • Account data is retained until you request deletion
  • Anonymous accounts may be deleted after 12 months of inactivity

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access Your Data

You can view your profile information within the App's "Me" section.

6.2 Delete Your Data

  • Local chat data can be deleted by uninstalling the App

6.3 Account Linking

  • You may use the App anonymously without providing email
  • You can optionally link an email address to recover your account on other devices

6.4 Manage Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases can be managed through your device's app store settings.

7. Your Privacy Rights by Region

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
  • If we discover that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it immediately

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including:

  • United States (Supabase infrastructure)
  • China (SiliconFlow AI services)

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

For EEA users, transfers are conducted under:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
  • Adequacy decisions where applicable
